LP - ST.THOMAS LPS THIROOR

St. Thomas Church Thiroor, a distinguished landmark was established in 1878 in the name of St. Thomas the Apostle. Since the, it has played an important role in the spiritual, social and cultural life of the people of Thiroor and nearby regions. The idea that emerged in the mind of Sri. Maliyammavu Lonappan in 1915 laid the foundation for the establishment of St. Thomas L P School, Thiroor. Later its administration came under the authority of St. Thomas Church, Thiroor. Although the school began functioning in June 1915, it received Government recognition in 1919. Sri. C.J. Kuriappan Master served as the first headmaster of the primary department. This prestigious educational institution celebrated its centenary in 2015-16 academic year. At present, including the HM, there are 16 teachers handling 16 divisions in the school and around 500 students study here every academic year. This school has become a precious and cherished mark of pride for Thiroor, like a thilak on its forehead.
