Our History - A Legacy of Excellence For decades our institution has stood as the cultural and educational nerve centre of Chevoor region. In 1820 the Chevoor church was established, initially functioning under the Archdiocese of Kodungallur until 1886. The administration shifted as the revered Bishop Medlycott took charge as the vicar Apostolic of Thrissur. A primary school was established in Chevoor known today as CALP school. For several decades this primary section remained the sole center of learning in the locality. A transformative chapter began in 1940 with the arrival of Rev Fr. R. John Chirayath as the vicar. In 1941 A preparatory class was officially introduced. In the subsequent years 5, 6, 7 classes were added. In the late 1970s a dream of high school in Chevoor became a reality. 1976 Sep 26, St. Xaviers High School was officially inaugurated. The historic ceremony was presided over by revered Bishop Mar Joseph Kundukulam and school was formally opened by then Home Minister of Kerala Sri. K. Karunakaran. V. Neelakandamenon took charge as our first Head master. The school achieved a milestone of 100% success in the SSLC examinations for 19 consecutive years. Though we face many Infrastructural and regional limitations, our school continues to surge forward.
